Dennis has been working in the visual communications field since 1990, and a music professional since 1985. His design career really began around the age of 5, when he developed a fascination with illustration, cartooning, color and all things visual. In elementary and junior high school, he was guilty of spending most of his class time silently critiquing and redesigning his teacher’s exhibits, displays and use of type. He was often caught doodling instead of paying attention to the day’s lesson. His childhood interest in type accelerated his penmanship skills, which pleased his Catholic elementary school nuns. As the years progressed, his illustration and hand lettering talents and interests inspired further experimentation with mixed media. By high school, Dennis began to incorporate type, photography and illustration to create artistic collages. The teenage years that followed were spent designing posters and fliers for every event that gave him an excuse to. From the very start, you could say he was a natural born designer.
Later, college refined his knowledge and talents in all aspects of visual communication including identity design, typography, color theory, layout, composition and illustration. Over the years, Dennis has been directly involved with the visual and content development of a rich and diverse array of advertising campaigns, as well as many brand development projects for both the public- and private-sector markets. He has also been responsible for the development, launch and management of many successful corporate, service and product brands, as well as created literally hundreds of dynamic print collateral and marketing pieces, from concept to final production. Dennis literally brings the “art of communication” to the creative process. Prior to igniting Flammable Design (Flammable Creations original name) many years ago, Dennis had been a member of many in-house marketing communications teams for a multitude of industries including advertising agencies, health care, retail, restaurants, beauty, hospitality, entertainment, manufacturing, travel, realty, law, technology, research, science and non-profit organizations. Ultimately, Dennis’s goal is building long term relationships with each client. He understands that the key to achieving that goal is through building trust by consistently delivering quality work in a timely manner, maintaining clear communication and constantly striving to ensure satisfaction and success — in the hopes of not only meeting – but exceeding each client’s goals and expectations.
